Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineer 1
The F15 Thermal Engineering group is looking for an entry level thermodynamicist. The candidate will support the development and documentation of the thermal environment as it pertains to the cooling of mechanical and electronic aircraft components. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers. Performs limited detail design development and modification of mechanical, fluid, and electronic systems as they pertain to thermal requirements. Assists in preparing technical documents for components and systems. Assists in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts. Works under close supervision.

Basic ability to analyze and interpret company products (e.g. analyzing GSE drawings). Knowledge acquired through on the job training.

Demonstrates some understanding of the applicable scientific and engineering knowledge and frequently involves subject matter experts and fellow work group members to obtain good information for the engineering decision-making process.

Basic knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics). Basic knowledge of the interaction between departments/ disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business).

Typical Education/Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Successful candidate will have demonstrated a desire to pursue a career in thermodynamics. The candidate will have a desire and aptitude for analysis type work and be able to work independently under supervision. Must include GPA to be considered.
