Mechanical Engineer-Vibration Analysis/NASTRAN/Femap
IMMEDIATE NEED with an engineering consulting firm located north of Sacramento, CA. Client is searching for an ENGINEERING ANALYST to join their team on a contract basis for 6-12 months.
Responsibilities:
-> Responsible for the timely and accurate use of computer-aided design tools to conduct dynamics, stress, and heat transfer analyses on a broad range of commercial and aerospace rotating equipment
-> Respsonsible for the creation of analytical models, the interpretation of results from commercial and custom engineering analysis programs, and the preparation of documentation for client use
-> Responsible for the setup, conduct, data reduction, and reporting of results from various kinds of vibration testing associated with validation and troubleshooting purposes
Requirements:
-> BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably a MS degree, from an accredited college or university
-> 2+ years of experience performing engineering analysis tasks using commercial analysis software such as NASTRAN and Femap
-> Experience with computer aided drafting and design tools, such as SolidWorks is a plus
-> An understanding of vibration analysis concepts obtained through demonstrated university level course work is essential, with formal instruction in rotor dynamics desired
-> Experience with acquisition and reduction of vibration data is a plus
