Location and team
KEMA Inc.'s Sustainable Use Consulting group is seeking an entry-level energy analyst/programmer with the capacity to conduct statistical analysis and modeling using billing and other energy-related data. Experience with energy efficiency and demand-side-management (DSM) programs a plus.
Tasks may include Manipulate large and complex data sets and apply appropriate statistical models to derive energy savings estimates achieved by energy efficiency and demand-side management programs. Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:
Statistical analysis and modeling of billing and other utility data using SAS.
Learn and apply existing protocols and methods to derive defensible estimates of energy savings. Recommend and develop new methods when appropriate.
Enhance existing SAS code and develop new code to achieve desired results.
Document and report analysis results clearly and concisely, including presenting data in graphs and charts, describing approaches used to derive results, and interpreting the results.
Develop sampling and weighting strategies for primary data collection.
Conduct surveys, in-depth interviews, and field visits as directed by project managers to collect primary data used to evaluate the impacts achieved by energy efficiency and DSM programs.
What we're asking
Bachelor's degree in statistics, operations research, economics, or related field.
Experience working with large data sets and applying statistical models in an academic or professional setting.
Experience with one or more programming languages. Experience with SAS, SPSS, R or related programming languages preferred.
Demonstrated quantitative skills and attention to detail.
Able to manage own time and workload effectively.
Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Experience with energy efficiency and demand side management (DSM) programs preferred.
Candidates must be fully authorized to work in the U.S.
