District Manager - Retail
Our client is a $20BB company that wholly owns and operates
thousands of small retail stores which are distinctive and instantly recognizable. They are #1 in their market by a huge margin and are continuing to grow and set the pace for their industry.
Due to the explosive growth of the business, they are seeking to hire District Managers in many US markets who each head up 9 stores in the district, and enabling them to grow further in the region. Position reports to the Vice President of Regional Operations.
The stores are small, and tend to employ 3 or 4 people at each location, generating an average of $500K to $750K in sales per location.
The person who will be hired must be extremely strong in operations as there will be complete responsibility for P&L, budgetary factors, hiring, training, staffing, ensuring all administration, branding, and asset management are being maintained to company standards.
It is a requirement that the individual to be hired will have multistore management experience. A background in convenience stores, restaurants, service stations, car rental, video rental, or virtually any other type of company owned multi site retail operation is essential. There is no prejudiced against any type of product area.
Compensation program consists of a 3 prong package: Base salary and bonus which usually account for cash earnings of $80K to $95K, plus a stock grant/bonus program which can add more than $60K to this figure.
They do NOT want "Big Box" people. Experience must be in running multisite operations for small stores, such as convenience stores, services stations, self storage, postal supplies, video stores etc...
5 YEARS EXPERIENCE AS A DISTRICT MGR IN RETAIL (LEADING 6+ RETAIL STORES) IS REQUIRED, INCLUDING P&L and HIRE/FIRE authority. NO EXCEPTIONS.
