Receives and processes payments and denial of payments.
Separates payments into batches by type and prepares batch header sheet.
Posts payments to accounts according to the line of equipment and service dates to ensure accurate payment status and accurate account activity.
Posts cash within 24 hours of deposit. May transfer bill to secondary payors if applicable.
Prepares completed cash batches for filing.
Researches unidentified payments using internal sources, written communication or phone inquiries to determine appropriate accounts to post payments.
Coordinates transfer of these funds to appropriate Apria branch or other company.
Identifies overpayments and notifies payor per Apria standard operating procedures.
Prepares and posts adjustment to appropriate accounts as necessary.
Processes refunds immediately to the government if overpayments have occurred.
Places overpayment of nongovernment funds in suspense or ""on account"" file per Apria Healthcare's standard operating procedures.
Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
At least one year related experience is required.
