Position Description:

General Description
The Senior Automation Administrator works under the general direction of the Infrastructure Manager to design, document, implement and maintain the Tivoli Automation tools in both AIX and Windows server environments. The individual is self starting, works will with related architects and administrators and meets deadlines as negotiated. The individual will work both alone and in design sessions with other related specialists to design the final Automation solution, will provide informal skills transfer to customer personnel and be able to articulate the design affirmatively to diverse groups.
Non-Essential Skills
? Experience with Microsoft off products for production of documentation
? Experience with Microsoft Outlook for email communication
? Familiar with High availability solutions with Oracle Database
? Familiar with Tivoli Work Load Manager (highly desirable)
? Familiar with WebSphere Application Server

Essential Skills
? Candidate must have excellent written and verbal skills
? Must be able document and articulate to others key issues in his technical arena
? Ability to work independently and solve major technical problems in their area of expertise
? Ability to take the lead in problem solving and coordination of multi-disciplinary groups
? Ability to drive problem resolution through vendor escalation channels for his product area
? Ability lead and constructively participate in white board type design and review sessions
? Ability to rapidly evaluate and learn new software products within the assigned automation arena
? Ability to contribute to the overall project design by understanding and communicating points of interface, best practices and recommendations
? Ability to work with AIX and Windows Administrators to continual improve the automation capabilities for Restart, Automated failover, Disaster Recovery, Testing and related areas
? Familiar with High Availability solutions with IBM DB2(distributed)

Technical Skills
? Demonstrated hands on working knowledge of Tivoli Automation and related products in a mission critical Unix Environment (2 years), AIX preferred
o Includes Tivoli System Automation (required) Tivoli System Automation Application Manager (desirable)
? Demonstrated hands on working knowledge of Tivoli Automation in a Windows Environment (1 year)
? Must be able to design, articulate tradeoffs and implement best practices for Tivoli Automation in both a Unix and Windows Environment
? Demonstrated hands on working knowledge scripting in an AIX (preferred) or Unix in large multiple server Data Center environment
? Strong AIX Systems Administration Skills (3 Years)
? Working knowledge of Windows Administration in a Data Center Server environment (1 year)


Education Requirements
? Minimum of Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer methods or equivalent experience or related technical school Diploma
? Formal vendor instruction in Tivoli Automation products or equivalent experience
? 6 Years Experience in IT, in a Systems Administration positions for Unix and Windows systems
