Overview:
An Architect is a senior technologist who designs and implements application architecture and owns the application strategies and roadmap for a suite of systems. Their primary areas of focus are core development, design and direction of application and database architecture, and alignment of application architecture with business objectives and high-level company technology direction. Application architects partner with other architects and technology decision-makers to guide overall direction of the larger technology direction. They work closely with Technical Leads, Architects, other Software Engineers and Management in a highly collaborative environment.
Key Accountabilities:
Design and implement critical functionality of applications.
Own the application suite roadmap.
Work closely with development team to ensure design patterns and direction is successfully and consistently implemented.
Work with business and business analysts to understand end user needs and future business direction.
Deliver project assignments on time, within budget and with high quality.
Work with the Technical Lead to get tasks and assignments.
Collaborate with other Architects and technologists to align suite design and roadmap with larger company direction and roadmap.
Skills Summary:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
5 years application design experience, UML and design patterns a must.
Minimum of 7 years full life cycle development J2EE project and development experience. Experience in a consulting environment is preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of back-end experience within a Java / relational database environment is required.
SQL and PL/SQL database development experience is required.
Able to effectively communicate across teams and roles.
Demonstrable ability to deliver projects on time, with high quality, and within budget.
Ability to deliver full life cycle engagements.
Ability and desire to thrive in a proactive, high-pressure, client-services, environment.
